Dental practices using UIS Health should include the following consent language on their patient intake forms:
Message Frequency: Message frequency varies based on the patient's appointment schedule and care needs. Patients typically receive 2-8 messages per month.
Message and Data Rates: Standard message and data rates from your wireless carrier may apply.
Carriers Supported: Messages are delivered via Azure Communication Services and support all major US carriers including AT&T, Verizon, T-Mobile, and others.
Patients can opt out of SMS communications at any time by replying STOP to any message received from UIS Health. An opt-out confirmation will be sent. To re-subscribe, patients can reply START at any time.
Patients can also contact their dental practice directly to update their communication preferences.
All SMS communications sent through UIS Health are HIPAA-compliant. Messages are sent through Azure Communication Services, which is covered by Microsoft's Business Associate Agreement. Patient phone numbers and message content are encrypted in transit and at rest. We follow the minimum necessary standard — messages contain only the information needed for the specific communication purpose.
